Need an appetizer for this holiday season or for a dinner party? Then check out this holiday cheese board for inspiration!
Today’s post is less of a recipe and more of a guide! With the holidays coming up, I’m sure y’all will either have a holiday party or get together where you’ll need to fix appetizers for a crowd. While it’s easy to feel like everything you make for the holidays has to be extravagant or purely homemade, that’s not the case. This holiday cheese board can prove it! You can throw together a few simple items that you already have on hand or are easy to find. It’ doesn’t need to be difficult!
For my holiday cheese board, I opted for cheese, summer sausage and crackers as the base. Klement’s garlic summer sausage is wonderful! While summer sausage may not exactly seem seasonal, it’s perfectly complimentary to the cheeses on the cheese board. I chose a traditional cheddar and a small wheel of brie. They’re two of my favorite cheeses! Finally, I added roasted mixed nuts (recipe coming next week!), dried cranberries and grapes for a touch of sweetness.
I’ve found that a balance of sweet and savory is the best combination for a cheese board. You also need a variety of textures – crunchy, soft, creamy and gooey. That’s what makes the best holiday cheese board!
Also, I decided to make a gift to show you exactly how I put together this cheeseboard. It’s my first gif so it’s a little rough, but I still wanted to share it with y’all!
