I have found my latest obsession: homemade pecan butter. It’s as good as it sounds. Y’all know I’m a fan of homemade nut butters. I’ve already shared homemade peanut butter and homemade nutella on this site. Now it’s time for the latest and greatest nut butter.
It was such a challenge for me to not eat all of this pecan butter in one sitting. As I was taking photos for today’s post, I sampled the pecan butter throughout the shoot. I’m too embarrassed to say how much I ate while taking photos! I really couldn’t get enough of it. So much so that it’s almost time to make more and it’s only been a couple of days since I made the first batch.
So why is this homemade pecan butter so good? It’s super smooth and rich. It’s slightly salty and just a bit sweet. And you can put it on anything! I’ve eaten mostly with apples or bananas. Plain pecan butter on a spoon works too though:) Once you get a taste, I bet you won’t be able to put down this homemade pecan butter either!
Homemade Pecan Butter
- 1 cup raw pecans
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Add the pecans to a food processor and blend for 5-10 minutes until a creamy spread forms. Scrape the sides of the food processor as necessary. Once the pecans have broken down into a butter, add in cinnamon, salt and vanilla extract. Blend until incorporated.
Transfer to a mason jar and store or serve immediately.
