I love TV and I’m not afraid to admit it. I’m actually watching TV as I type out this post. Over the years, I’ve watched a variety of different genres: cop drama, sitcom, cooking. I’ve enjoyed it all. I’d like to think that I’ve refined my taste but that’s just not true. Don’t get me wrong, I love the heart wrenching, beautifully scripted scenes of Downton Abbey. I also love the cheesy, overacted scenes found in shows like Castle. I like a wide range of shows.
Some of my favorite shows include:
– The New Girl (I mean, who doesn’t love the occasional awkwardness of that show?!)
– Saturday Night Live
– Parks and Rec
– Modern Family
– Mad Men
With the 2012-2013 television season wrapping up, it’s brought to light just how much time I spend each day watching TV. Come the end of May, television will no longer have a hold over my schedule. What to do with this extra time? Finally exercise? Take art classes? Spend more time with friends? The possibilities are endless.
I realize I could do this during the regular TV season as well, but there’s something about vegging out for an hour at the end of the day. It helps me unwind and destress. However, I think I will enjoy a break from my TV shows. I’ll also look forward to the season openers in September.
I’m excited to cook more, explore the city and maybe learn a new skill this summer. I might even share my experiences with you!
